Small concept design for the Floraxi, they are a mantid like race that has a tough chitinous hide and a flower petal at the base of their tails. Their strong mandibles able to bite their way into stone allowing them to consume rocks and dirt alike as they burrow through the underground to the surface. They are nocturnal creatures that are active at night and sleep during the day in which they stick their tails up through the earth to let the sun shine onto them.
