Willow The Lovely Doe
"And now I've found you."
"I was excited to have been the one to begin my recovery therapy first, not because I wanted you to suffer more, but because I knew my conviction would help me to help you better. I was, however, frightened when they took me away to a assisted living facility far awa from you. It was a lovely place in the mountains and pines, but all its trappings and beauty was dull and uninteresting without knowing I could ever try to share it with you."
"It took me two years to find you again. One was spent slowly easing my way back into my professional life, and another working up the courage to speak to you. After all, we had only known each other behind plaster masks and waves of pain and suffering. Would we be the people we dreamed we were? Would we be able to even get along? Do you ever think of me?"
"And now you stand before me. On the pier in the sunset, your blue fur appearing so soft. Your blue locks looking just like they did years ago. Your lithe body holding itself so certain and majestically against the chaos of our universe. And God how I missed seeing those antlers.
"Of course your left wrist is in a cast; I remember a nurse saying you had weak bones. But seeing your eyes turn to me, your mouth opening in surprise at seeing what I hoped was a familiar tail, made everything I planned to say melt away in my mind."
"As I start to speak, I'm frightened. I'm at your mercy. Please, please want to know me."

This is a "what if we let our characters recover" sequel to https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49251045/, with my Rudoji is also up and walking out of his body cast. Hope Willow doesn't mind Rudd's taste in femme clothing XD

I’ve never put much thought into what would happen if/when Willow was released from her full body cast, so I really appreciate seeing your take on it. The anxiety Ru is feeling over whether they truly connected or only felt that way due to their situation is such a great concept.
It’s rare to see one of my OCs drawn and I think you nailed both Willow’s look and personality, as well as what life may look like post-full body cast. Definitely one of my favorite fanarts so I appreciate it :)
(And as a side note, I’m sure Willow would have no issue with the femme clothing haha)

Feel free to come up with your own story for their eventual recovery, ifthey ever do that is. ;3
I wanted to do this mainly because I wanted to see how well I could do a before/after image while maintaining continuity between both images. To convey the true thickness and humiliation of the way we render our full body casts.
In every iteration of reality I've put Rudd into, he's always been shy around those he wants to see happy, and is very bi/pan and a big romantic-over-sexual kinda fella. He'd really want to get to know Willow, if it means just being friends or going further. She's certainly something special that would mean the world to him to make happy.
And hey, they could easily go clothes shopping together if she'd like :3

Even if they never recover, I enjoy branching into alternate timelines, so it may be fun for me to explore their recovery at some point :)
And I think you did an amazing job showing how debilitating Willow’s full body cast is. Comparing the two pictures shows how incredibly thick it is, how it limits her ability to communicate, how it hides her emotions under a plaster mask, and more.
I wrote Willow in a very similar way, so I’m not surprised that they pair up well together. Shy, timid, romantic, and wanting nothing but the best for others. I also left it open-ended as to whether they’d be friends or more, I like giving people the opportunity to fill in the blanks :D
