"Come on, say it again."
"Alright, alright. Oh Rivet, my sweet fuzzy Y.E.T.I of rebellion, do you not remember that great times we shared? Fighting off the troops of our hated enemy?" The Lombax's poor French mockery of her former rival produced a bevy a guffaws from the crowd of Troopers. "And I said, yeah...
"What a waste of effort!" The whole procession, Rivet and all broke out in raucous laughter as Rivet imitated that final hammer swing that had crushed her former rival into dust.
Under the constant barrage of propaganda and mantra of her helmet, he Nefarian General was smiling at the revelry around her. This tour of her Emperor's Rubion Forge to destress after her last mission had been a great idea. The troopers had long gotten used to the idea that the lombax was on their side, even if she still had yet to shed her organic interior. 'Not till I'm ready.' she had said.
What was brilliant was that what few pockets of the Resistance were left were easy pickings for the general as, while the troopers accepted her enlightenment, no one else believed it. With nanotech in her suit (a gift from her humble Zordoom beginning position) she was able to disguise her whole body, including the robotic arm that had once been her greatest regret but now seemed almost like a premonition of where her life was to go.
"Might I just say General, your armor looks particularly shiny today. I could have mistaken you for the Emperor."
"Like I could even come close to matching his greatness." None could see she was blushing at the complement. "On that note, back to work! The lot of you! The Emperor wants the upgrades to his battle mech up and running yesterday! Better yet, last week!"
The troopers rushed off to thier positions, not knowing that the Emperor had no reason to believe the upgrades would be done in a month, nor were they needed at this point. But this new Rivet, this general of her ruler's armies, she smelled promotion in the air and nothing would stand in her way.
