Knew this comic had some dark themes, but it was generally pretty wholesome. The look on the wolf's face and the way Schwarpelz's verbalizing everything going through their mind right now really drives home the trauma they're going through.

Even if it wasn't an ex kid, killing something big can be quite traumatic the first time.

All I know is when I was a kid I went squirrel hunting with my dad, and one of them didn't die right away. Scarred me away from hunting for life.

Hmmm~ it's been a while but its theory time~ neurons clicking and wanna make some predictions~

Remembered how people's essence kinda passes on when they get absorbed by Schwarzi's collector
Calie's strong resemblance to Celia, from both the hair and the anagram name
This focusing on a younger Schwarzi, seemingly his origins as the great wolf~
Along with Calie seeming on the verge of death and struggling to attain her own goals with the portal

My guesses for this chapter will be that Calie either can't finish the portal or becomes critically injured, and in her dying moments, Schwarzi offers to consume her and absorb her essence into his collector, allowing her soul back into the flow of life to eventually become Celia, and initiating Schwarzi's routine of absorbing essence in exchange for wishes. In fact, I think she may even battle him in rejection, cementing combat as part of the ritual, while wishes become part of the process as she yearns to be human, to be normal, to not be hunted for being a Drifter. Oh, this hypothetical timeline is so cruel, even despite her wishes to Schwarzi she ends up becoming a Drifter again anyway. Except this time not the kind that can turn into a mutant beast.

That hypothetical is way to sad for me to want to be the reason he does that😿

Hmmm~ well if not yet then this is my guess for when the collector eventually gets involved somehow~ like an origin story for a lot of the important key elements of the plot~

Don't mind me tho~ <3 am just sitting back and enjoying the show but I'm obsessed with worldbuilding and love trying to put the pieces together so sometimes the ideas swirl around in my head and need to get out~
