The sky outside continued to pulse with those rifts, distractions and plots by the Resistance, but nothing would take away Rivet's focus. This solo mission was going to be the most important of her career; if she succeeded, there was no telling what gifts Emperor Nefarious would bestow on her.
Word had spread that a strange pair had fallen out of one of the rifts, a Lombax and a robot. The robot could go to the scrap heap as would all robots with no known allegiance to her Emperor. But to Rivet, it was important that the Lombax not fall into Resistance hands, whatever was left of them at least. He would no doubt be used as some kind of bolster for them and be indoctrinated into thier lies.
But the 'Top Commander in Chief of All His Majesties Forces' would not allow it. But as Rivet approached thier table, caring nothing for the mournful glances given her way, she could see in his eyes he would not go willingly. There was some childish spark in them, some colored notion that Rivet could vaguely recall in from her wasted years fighting.
He would fight, but he would have no weapons. Zurkie's was a violence free zone after all.
But such rules did not apply to the Emperor's Raritainium Girl.
With all the bolts her bounties and military work got her, she owned the club.
She reached into her pack, pulled out the experimental Hypno-Matic and fired.
