Zhenya/Zhenyka or Jnnkzelpe (pronounced junn-kzelyp) as they are known among their alien brethren, are a grey (iyyd-human hybrid) who lives in USSR, yet was born and raised off-world among iyyd and other greys. Due to their talent for arcane arts and an interest in the occult, they were taught the ways of witchcraft and sent to Earth undercover to serve as an occult specialist in ION (ИОН - Institute of Occult Sciences), being stationed in a village in Siberia to experiment and monitor supernatural activities. Apart from working with Soviets, Zhenya also takes part in field missions and experiments with other aliens.

Zhenya often can seem grumpy or cold, being raised mostly by iyyd, and is not very well adjusted to human society, however they are rather kind and caring if one gets to know them better. Due to tall stature, strange habits and low expressiveness, however, they are often seen as creepy or intimidating by humans. Zhenya is logical and pragmatic, yet sometimes may act "feral", often as a part of their witchy routine. Doesn't really have a fixed gender identity or choice of attire or pronouns.

Zhenya serves as both the source of most weird things happening in their village, and the bridge between mundane and otherworldly, helping two worlds to coexist.
