Talani was infantry for a while! Though her poor eyesight necessitated the use of digital optics to even aim properly. Thankfully, some weapons practically aim themselves, the only problem is recoil.

Could also use one on the back or gun so that it doesn't slam their back into the ground... or some sort of force equalizer to push the gun back forward as it fires.
