Chapter 6
The Weeping AzazelAzazel once again awoke to the visage of Ally laying on top of her. Ally is so cute when she sleeps. She's adorable all the time. And it's the weekend. Azazel rubs the head of Ally and peppers her forehead with kisses. Ally groans and wakes up, “Good morning sunshine.” Said Azazel. Ally smiled sweetly, “Good morning.”
“Hey Azazel?” Asked Ally, “If it’s not too sensitive… how– how did your dad die?”
“Uh.” Azazel remembered the event, the sight of a strange man in the house, and then, a gunshot, Azazel began to cry. “It's okay.” Ally said as she began to cuddle Azazel. She began to cry harder into the shoulder of Ally.
“I miss him so much.” Azazel said between sobs.
“I know, I know. I’m sorry for bringing it up” Ally said, “You’ve gotta talk about it to process it, but I won’t push you.” Azazel squeezed Ally as she sobbed into her shoulder.
After a while. Azazel’s cries turned into soft sniffles, “Thank you.” Said Azazel.
“For what?” Asked Ally.
“For always being there for me.” Azazel replied, “And loving me despite everything I am.”
“Hey, hey.” Said Ally, “I love you for you.”
“I love you Ally.” Said Azazel.
“I love you too.” Ally said before giving Azazel a small peck on the lips. They laid in bed cuddling each other for a few more minutes. Azazel was the first to sit up, “I-I think I’m okay now.” She said. Ally sat up beside her.
“You sure?” Asked Ally. Azazel nodded. Ally proceeded to give Azazel a peck on the cheek. Azazel smiled warmly. And then she returned the peck to Ally. Ally got up off the bed and headed for the door, “I’m gonna go to the kitchen to make you some cookies, k?” Ally said. Azazel replied with a nod.
Ally was in the kitchen baking the cookies. Karma goes into the kitchen not too long after her. “Hey Karma.” Said Ally.
“Hello.” Karma replied, “Making cookies again?” Ally nodded, then Karma said, “Is Azazel doing well?”
“She says she is but I can tell she’s not.” Ally replied.
“What happened?”
“I-” Ally hesitated, “I brought up some past trauma.”
“Oh, what did you ask?” Karma asked.
“I asked how her dad died.” Ally replied.
“Oh.” Karma said, “She- she doesn’t enjoy talking about that.” Alyy nodded in understanding. When she lost her mother it took her years to process, even now she’s just barely done it. Granted, she was very young when it happened and she witnessed her mum have a heart attack. And Ally has no Idea what Azazel witnessed. But she knew it could only have been worse.
When she was finished with the cookies she scooped them all into a small little box and brought them down to Azazel. Azazel was looking down at the floor in a catatonic state. Before she startled and turned to Ally, “Oh, your back.”
“You okay, babe?” Ally asked concerningly as she shut the door behind her.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Azazel gave a weak but genuine smile.
“I made you some cookies.” Ally handed Azazel the box. Azazl opened it and low and behold, there were at least a dozen assorted cookies, each with another feel good message on it. Each hand written in frosting. Azazel could feel her eyes tear up again, “Thank you.” She managed to choke out, “For everything.”
“Of course Azzie.” Ally snuggled up beside her, “I’d do anything to make you happy. Because I love you.” Azazel pulled Ally into a hug as she quietly cried into her shoulder. Azzazel hugged Ally tightly. She feels as though if she were to let go, Ally would leave, and never come back. But Azazel knows this isn’t true.
After crying for what seemed like forever, Azazel flopped backwards onto the bed, taking Ally along with her, “Thank you.” Azazel said quietly, “For everything.”
“Of course Azzie.” Ally replied, “I love you to the moon and back, 100 times over.” Ally then gave her a small kiss.
“I love you too, Ally.” Azazel said. She then embraced Ally tightly, not wanting to let go. The two were still laying on the bed. Despite their room now having two beds, they still shared one.
Azazel was the first to get up from the long hug. She sighed, and said, “Why do you love me?”
“I already told you.” Replied Ally, “I love you for you!”
“I know, but what about me?” Azazel asked.
“Well.” Said Ally as she sat up, “You're cute, your kind, sweet, accepting. Just the nicest person I’ve ever met. And I love you for it.”
Azazel’s face was as red as a tomato. She pulled Ally into a tight hug, “I love you so much!” She said, “Please, don’t ever leave me.”
“Of course Azzie.” Ally replied, “Why would anyone leave someone as kind as you?”
“Because.” Azazel said, “I’m a mess.”
“So am I.” Ally replied once more, “But that’s one reason why I love you, I can relate to you.” Azazel began to cry once more.
