Strangely enough, a fair portion of her training as an officer involved learning more traditional dueling styles employed with vibroblades. It was mostly traditional, but it has its uses in self defense- after all, few shields will protect against a well-placed sword strike, and decorative sabers are generally overlooked at checkpoints.
