The Dream. The longing for True Sight, for the unshackled Mind.
The domain of Thoughts and Visions is where the Home is. It's where the Eternal Companion dwells.
In my dream, I am the Stargazer.
Perched on a precipice above the precarious Reality itself, shrouded in Doubt and Fear.
Above me, the Prize that awaits those who braved the Ascent. The realm of Endless Beauty, of possibilities beyond counting.
In this Realm, I'm Powerful. That's where the Home is. My form, Might and Grace manifested.
High above is where the Dragon resides. He knows his place. His gaze reaches far from the summit.
Through the eyes of Consciousness, he has been blessed with the Gift of Infinity.
Here I am Free. Free of the Chains.
May the Dragon Within lead the way.
The Stargazer is a well-known symbol in my lore. What it represents is the nature of a sentient being - the union between the Corporeal and the Transcendent, between the Evanescent and the Eternal.
The tumultuous cycle of Life and Death, bound to the primordial cycle of Dawn and Dusk. Chaos anchored within Order.
The "magic" of my world rests on this very connection - a Soul is a link between the universe of material reality and the Transcendent Planes, a living conduit capable of channeling energies from Beyond, where only the Mind can reach. Consciousness is what allows such a Soul to express its Will - therefore being able to direct energy with Purpose. Those most adept in wielding this power were devoted to the realm of Mind - just like the Stargazer turns to behold the celestial beauty. Turning inwards brought them relief from the fears of a mortal being - dread induced by finity, fragility, powerlessness, emptiness, constraint. In the Above, they were the Creators and Sovereigns - for within the Mind, Imagination and Conviction are the law. For the wielders of magic, their attunement to the Beyond allowed them even to exert their wishes upon the Reality below.
Why the clouds represent the Below in symbolism of the Stargazer, you might ask? Because a living being is compelled by their corporeal nature. Driven by excitement, fear, pain and desire. Those obscure the vision of the stars and infinite space - or litter it with false Light. The Stargazer sits on a peak just above the clouds, able to truly see - yet their body is still attached to a part of the real world. Again, such is the nature of sentient life, its duality.
This magnificent piece of art is a YCH I received from
nikolaosflamel as a result of her collaboration with
pdrop. The idea just struck me as such a perfect expression of the concept I sought to portray visually, with the execution being exquisite in itself. Big thanks to them for their splendid work! It's equal parts majestic and surreal, just as intended for something meant to serve as an allegory. I'm very, very happy with how well it all fits together, especially with the split between two dominant colors.

But that was a mere dream.
I am Below.
Below the clouds that form the Boundary of the Worlds.
Should I find no meaning under the Haze, eternally confused for a mortal's lifespan...
May I complete my Ascent one day. I wish to see the light and vastness of the Above, pellucid and ethereal.
To be Unbound.May the Dragon Within lead the way.

AHhh the stars... the cold and everburning light of universe that just shine upon all creation without end and grant the knowledge to all who want to touch their wisdom and gain knowledge beyond emagination... or they will grant madness to anyone who will be foolish enough and weak to not withstand their power and dread of eternity
And this beast strong enough to do that without doubt with its strong and stoic character. And his lifespan definitely would allow him to do it because the time doesn't affect his mind as much as mere mortal's mind would be
Eternity for accustomed mind is a routine, for a mortal mind - a curse. The part of being immortal is not about to outlive everything and anyone but how long you will remain yourself
Amazing art for amazing beast! Truly a sight to behold!

The art is quite stunning. I am always looking to have myself depicted in more art like this instead of my usual NSFW stuff I have. I'd rather have scenes like this. I'm also eventually going to start drawing myself soon enough and hopefully be actually good.
And well there is a lot of interpretations for those ramblings. I suppose for even those of otherkin like myself, the mind is the domain of home; it's where the past we so long for lives.
Others may even see it as an endless goal to strive for, and those with the will and power to achieve it will inevitably make it to those peaks, and free themselves of the chains that hold them back.
Lots of cool bits of wisdom from the interpretations you can pull from this!

Seeing that it inspires others to have their own interpretations that resonate with them is high praise. And fingers crossed that you get around to fulfilling those plans of getting epic art of yourself - there's no such thing as enough high-quality, magnificent dragon art.
