For a long while, I've been planning to do a reference sheet for Zir'han. You've probably seen a couple of headshots of him in my gallery, but so far I've never drawn him in all his feathery glory.
Now, this should be easy.
I don't normally adopt characters, y'know? Somehow I never saw a point in it, personally. But three years ago, I stumbled upon this drake. I knew I had to get him and ride him. No doubts, no weighing options, I'm not going away until I have him, period. Several days and an unreasonable amount of Paypal complications later, I was the proud owner of Zir'han.
But there was a small problem: I have my own clade of dragons, and I would not use Zir'han as my OC before I modified his design enough to fit him somewhere in the phylogenetic tree of my draconids.
Quadrupedal draconid covered with feathers, easy, that's a griffin for me. This much lore was sufficient for my standards, now time for Ingvar to tack this guy up and go for a ride or a training session or engage in another abhorrent, speciesist practice.
However, making a ref sheet requires me to put a bit more thought into Zir'han's design. So indeed, I did put a bit more thought into his design... and then I said pretty much what the title of this submission says.
Artwork on top was done by Dioneya , from whom I bought the adopt. Go take a look at her dragons!
