Oh My God! That car!

I like it when artists are reminiscent of other artists yet so inarguably unique. The car reminds me of old R. Crumb sketches while at the same time the characters are like something from a Maurice Sendak/Hergé amalgamation. And now that I look at it again, it reminds me of some Miyazaki film with little cars... Maybe it's just the color.

Just out of curiosity, Moult, is that the same car that Jake and Irma once rode in? If so, there shouldn't be any problems fitting Martha and Florence in the front seat!

It's not the same one, but it's possibly a cousin.

I had in mind that Moritz makes his living as a semi-competent handyman (handypossum?). One of his sidelines is collecting and 'fixing' ancient broken cars, to the point where they just about run, and selling them on dirt cheap. The Jakemobile is one of his.

Martha is probably a tad bigger than Irma, but no doubt she'll find a way. (And BTW, Florence is the car, it's Moritz' pet name for it.)
