After many hours of practicing shading and highlighting, and working on the first profile view of my character for the past 3 weeks, I finally finished the first image and I wanted to give you all a sneak peek at the progress and improvement. On the left is my previous version of Aurora Lumina back when I drew her in 2020. On the right is her revamped design. The improvement of the design and drawing really shows itself when compared to one another. The textures, shading, and highlighting all help to create this near-realistic version that brings new life into her.
After this, I will continue to work on her other profile views and after that Kyro will be next. There's still a lot of work to be done, but now I have set a goal for completing the reference sheets, at least for Aurora. February 4, 2013, was the day I drew Aurora as my first original character, and since I'm nearing 10 years in a couple of months I will work on her new design and finish her reference sheet by Feb. 4, 2023. I am really excited to see how it's coming along and look forward to finishing it.
