I beg to differ. "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" takes the prize in that category. Fortunately, I have managed to avoid it this season. Until soneone posted the lyrics to the parody "Grandma got molested at the airport" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Qdb6wC0Iz4). Now I've got that damned thing in my head and I cannot get it out.
I just haven't heard it enough times for it to stick in my memory. Nor have I heard it in the context of a memorably unpleasant family event...as was the case with "I Believe in Father Christmas" by Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
That one, "Grandma", and "Father Christmas" by the Kinks are on my "shit parade" of holiday season songs that would make my day by NOT hearing them. Next to them, "Hippopatamus" is only a mere annoyance, right next to "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth".
Now, if you don't mind, it's time to take my chances with a "Rusty Chevrolet".

gimme a few hours, I need to go take off this skirt, blouse, panties, garters and stockings.
and then I'll go get my little friend: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2180058/ (yes, that was a scarface reference)
I don't fist fight, I prefer to do my fighting from 600 meters away

It is one of those songs that slam you with a 'you will cry' mallet until you give in and bawl. I despose it greatly for that matter. But at least its not as much a tear jerker as big bird singing 'It's Not Easy Being Green' during Jim Henson's funeral. That song, if you don't cry after seeing it, you have zero compassion or heart left in your soul...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iq10bz3PxyY I think Patton explained the song pretty good
I think it's a tie between "Christmas Shoes" and "Grown Up Christmas List" for my all time least favorite Christmas songs....followed by "So This is Christmas (War is Over)" in a far third...yes, even the great John Lennon is not safe from my dislike of pretentious preachy/depressing Christmas music.
This, jfc.
My personal runner ups are every single song by the guy who does a bad little kid voice who sang "My two front teeth", including that song, "angel in the christmas play" (Imagine two front teeth combined with 'Im gettin nothin for christmas'), "when I'm santa clause" and "my birthday comes on christmas".

Absolutely. What's sad is that I actually used to listen to Christian radio, and when I first heard that song I was like "WTF Newsong, you're better than this!" (And they are. I still stand by this.) The story was literally cribbed from a chain email... what next, a song about the NASA scientists who found the missing day in history?
My runner-up would have to be "Do They Know It's Christmas?" for most of the same reasons plus the fact that it has a tendency to get stuck in one's head. The guy who wrote that one actually apologized for it recently, partly because he's sick of hearing it on the radio every year.
By the way, have you ever seen [http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/vi.....tmas-songs]the Nostalgia Chick's video[/url] on Christmas songs? She lets "The Christmas Shoes" and "Baby It's Cold Outside" have it with both barrels; sounds like it's right up your alley.

I would most assuredly say false. I think its a sad yet really pure song talking about the innocent love of a child for its mother. And there is nothing wrong with that.
The worst song for me is definately the chipmunks. ANYTHING by them. I will keeeeeeeel them, slowly and painfully, with a spork.

"Christmas Shoes" makes me weep. The little boy knows his mother is dying, and instead of crying about it, he spends what little money he has on one last Christmas present for her. It tears my heart up that out of all of the people in the world today, the odds of meeting someone as selfless as that are now roughly one in several tens of thousands.
...I know, I'm a bleeding heart. Tim McGraw's "Don't Take the Girl" tears my heart up too.
Nice picture btw. I really like that racoon-ish girl.
