Adara who fears drowning and Basil who fears burning end up on separate sides of death. While Basil's appears to be a form of self-punishment that locks him away from the afterlife, Adara's is life with everyone but Basil. It seems fine at first, but Basil was one of two people who she really knew and trusted.
Thus she sets off to find a way to reach him again.

Sadly there's only comic parts of scenes, which I am gonna post this week in the comic folder. Most of this is in writing and fairly gruesome as it deals with punishments and how one's life reflects on their afterlife. It's also the second part(there's an entire story before it).
