Tyrannodon was a Monster of the Week who appears in the third act of Ep.14, Surpass the Devil's Sea, in the Fireman TV series, been the 14th Kaiju of the roster by the show's order of appearance.

_Bio and Abilities_
Tyrannodon was a Herbivore Dinosaur who lived in the sea for the most part, feeding on Sea Plants. He remain dormant up until Nuclear Testing removed much of his food source, thus, forcing to head to Japan to search for his favorite plant.

It had a grayish-blue and white body, with spikes running from the top of its head, all the way down the back and to the tail; was an adept swimmer and was capable to fire a Heat Beam from the mouth - when doing this attack, Tyrannodon's body would glow when charging, like Godzilla's Dorsal Plates when firing its heat beam. Indeed, like Godzilla and many other Kaiju, Tyrannodon's Heat beam and its environment been displaced are by-product of said Nuclear Tests.

Tyrannodon was another Kaiju that reused Jiger's Roar.

When large glaciers are spotted in the seas of Japan, SAF proceeds to travel on the Shin Marine Sub to investigate the phenomenon; after a scare with rough underwater currents, the stumble upon the glaciers, finding a considerable amount of Sea Weed (Atroppa Pelagma) drifting in between the Glaciers, Umino deducing that the current situation is a product of the Hydrogen Test performed in the area, but when lightning from Thunder storm hits the Glaciers, oil carried by one of these is release and ignited, turning the waters around into a sea of fire; forcing Shin Marine to submerge to avoid the fire, but end up getting themselves trap among the glaciers and strong currents that run around it.

Trap between a sea of flames and colliding glaciers, Shin Marine begins to freeze the sub while been crushed by the glaciers; Mizushima after doing the calculations, suggests to use Missiles to escape; the Sub fires the Missiles and breaks free from the Glaciers. Later, a vessel contacts the Shin Marine about a Submarine Object heading toward Tokyo, when the team studies the speed and direction, the object puts it on a path with a (Nameless) Factory and SAF contacts the JSDF who sents Combat Jets – all of these are shutdown by a Heat beam fired from the still submerge object. Shin Marine arrives to the 104 Point and discovers a Dinosaur Kaiju, Tyrannodon.

Side Note: I think the Factory is a Nuclear Plant – in the poor dubbing done for the Episode, Umino states that "it might blow up the whole of Japan" and in the Tokusatsu genre that's a term quite often use to describe the danger of a Nuclear Weapons or Power Plants about to get its royal ass torn wide open by (insert) whatever heads its way.

Also,much of the explanation of the Kaiju's behavior is done by the Narrator, who explains that the Nuclear Tests in the area are the result of the Beast's losing its food Source, the Atroppa Pelagma, forcing the Kaiju, mad with hunger, to migrate to the Mountains where the Factory is located because that's where its favorite food is also located.

Why there is sea weed growing in the mountains? I do not know – but it means the real victim here was Tyrannodon. This episode seems to fall on the category that it was rushed, putting too much emphasis to the Shin Marine been caught in the Glaciers Plot, and I have the sneaky suspicion they forgot about Tyrannodon Plot at the last minute – literally, the Monster appears as the Episode is about to conclude.

Shin Marine battles Tyrannodon, but its proves no match to the Kaiju, who beats the sub and knocks the crew unconscious; Tyrannodon emerges and heads to land destroying a village and JSDF jets failing to stop it; Misaki awakes before anyone and transforms into Fireman and heads to battle Tyrannodon.

For the most part, Fireman holds its ground facing Tyrannodon, the Kaiju been slower to act, and Fireman avoids its Heat Beam; after Tossing Tyrannodon Fireman and the Kaiju fired the main attacks – Fireman FireFlash, Tyrannodon its Heat beam – both are hit and fall, but Tyrannodon stands up first, tries to dash towards the hero, but the Head suddenly explodes, a late Feedback from the Fireflash Attack, the body falls; Fireman stands victorious to see the rest of the Kaiju's body explode.

Fireman returns back to normal & Misaki reunites with the rest of SAF and head to base.
