In the early 19th century, the city fortrifications of Frankfurt were demolished by command of the french occupation force. In pace of the ramparts many gardens were build by wealthy citizens, which later formed a park that stretches around the city center. This small garden house near Eschenheimer gate, build around 1810 is a remainder from that time. Today it is used for art expositions, lectures and concerts.
