Time for a cool change
I know that it's time for a cool change

For those days when it was just too cold or hot to drive around with the top down, you could make a cool change in your 1961 Chevrolet Corvette.

The environmental controls in my 1982 Toyota Corolla had a multi-position switch for fan speed, a slider for temperature control, and a slider for balancing airflow between head and feet.
My current vehicle is so complex, I haven't figured out how to simply get the fan to blow outside air. I miss those days of simplicity.

Sometimes simple is the best option. In my car -- which is 7 years old -- you can set separate temperatures for driver and passenger (she always wants it warmer) and the current state of the fan and temperature show up on the radio display when you change it. I rode in a friend's new '22 Acura (she got a nice severance from her last job) and it's all touch-screen. Bizarre.
