The bane of inflatables everywhere-- a simple knob of plastic embedded with a metal spike. Made entirely in Blender, using probably 3 levels of subsurf and vertex colors.
I'm not really a fan of these things in inflation sequences except as deliberate interrupts, such as in making a puncture for deflation, and especially since bursting from extreme pressure is just so much more intense and dramatic-- after all, the building pressure is what makes both inflation and gluttony so exciting to me in visual fiction.
So... yeah. A pin.

You have to be especially careful with these types of pins. They have a habit of falling onto the floor where you least expect it =P But yeah, popping from overgrowth and tension is more intense and enjoyable ;)
Nice work on this one. Nice job with keeping the pin aspect the proper length and size to the real ones. Also interesting background, it reminds me of Earthbound in a way =D

I didn't really think too hard about the background, but I knew it should be pink. Pink, or magenta, are the colors that most reflect the tone I go for in this type of work: pleasurable, soft and playful.
Thanks for your compliment :) I don't know what I'd ever use it for, but seems to have come out quite well. It's a little more squashed and "cartoony" than I first imagined, but that doesn't hurt at all.
