I have kind of a confession to make. I'm not really a furry, well, not REALLY. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love hanging out here, and I like drawing furries, sure. But when it gets right down to it, I don't particularly identify with an animal, I don't wish I was a furry, and I don't own a fursuit (nor do I WISH to own a fursuit. Just not something that interests me.)
So when I started here on FA, I really had no particular interest in drawing a 'fursona.' As time got on, I realized I needed a kind of avatar to represent me, so I drew this little guy. But I don't really IDENTIFY with him. He has no backstory, and no real depth to him. I don't even know what species he is. Essentially, I just doodled him as a face to put with my name, and I don't see that changing in the near future.
As a result, I don't really draw him much at all. Here are a few sketches I did just while passing the time, but I probably won't do much more with him.
Now don't get me wrong, I love it when people draw him, I mean, I stuck with the design for a reason. And it's nice to know that people like me enough to draw him, but in the end, I personally have more fun drawing other guys.

anyway I do like this character. When I first saw him I thought he was some sort of turtle, with the snout type mostly. But one thing I've actually always wondered – his top.. sometimes it looks like a shell, other times just a shirt. which is it?

It's nice to know that you understand (all of you, really.) Believe it or not I've met several people who are not cool with it. They seem to think that you must be 100% Furry or you aren't (and I've heard this both from furries and from non-furries.)
I'm just me. I like to draw, and it is fun to draw anthropomorphic creatures, don't get me wrong. Tails and ears and all are fun to look at and draw. But I view it kind of like drawing aliens: things that don't exist but are fun to draw.
