Joseph Melinao, is Esteban's biological father. He is a guy that not much is known about, but it is known that he abandoned Esteban (and his mother) when he was 4 years old. Esteban only remembers fragments of his life with him. Some of them were very painful, because in the memory of the boy, the blows that Joseph gave him were recorded. There were other horrible things that Esteban doesn't remember, because, luckily for him, they were blocked by Vroeg's psionic power just before they surfaced again. It is also said that Joseph was an active member of the pro-human organization H1, although this has not been proven.
Now, Joseph travels to Chakona, for the facilities granted by the Federation. His intention is to re-encounter his son. What other things does this man have in mind?
