There are two separate catfolk species in my setting: The Ajshar, who resemble caracals or lynxes, and the Herimash, also called "Wild Ones", who have longer tails and always a spotted coat. While the Ajshar created large empires and city states in south-western side of the continent, the Herimash, thanks to their unrivaled sailing abilities, managed to settle most coastal areas of the continent. However, unlike their tufted cousins, they have always remained scattered, living in small tribal groups, and that made them an easier target to pretty much every other species. Nowadays they mainly live in densely forested areas, or they integrated into other more dominant cultures. This doesn't mean the Herimash will offer no resistance if some invaders decide to step in their lands, and in many cases they managed to halt the advance of great kingdoms and empires thanks to their knowledge of the territory and their guerrilla fighting skills.
Boy, this took me a while to complete XD This is a late upload by my standards!

Honestly depending on the armour of the enemy bows could be the better choice by far in a dense forest ambush
No loud bangs, no powder smoke to letyou know exactly where the shooter its
Buuuuut if you could somehow convince a group of gunners to be bait, say a nice ridge that they can shoot over. Sentients by nature will have full attention on the bangs, flashes and smoke
then up comes the club brigade from behind, becaus they may have fancy armour and cutting enge tech, but a power swing boink on the noggin from behind will altf4 you tech or no tech

Hadto link this in two parts as it gets taken down regularly by GW and it's locked behind a paywal otherwise
You can ignore the following rant it's just a rant
(legit, I got into Warhammer because of a fan made animation, that later got blitzed from youtube because they basically brought it, hired the animator then put it up behind a paywall on their own site
Hmmm, our new 11/10 hotness working boy parading the streets is bringing in lots of new never before seen punters to our plastic crack denwho we may be able to get addicted and take 1000's from IDEA Put him inside the bar + shutter the windows + ? = profit

Haha, after so meany time of watching you, and Titus Weiss, I suddenly realized that I've never actually picture nor thought about large numbers of Herimash cats in this case. As unlike wolves, and Lions, the brain is wired to always picture them in small numbers if not alone cus they are not social by nature, so isn´t this a fantastic sighting? ...picturing three, but presumably a whole bunch of them... carrying spears, arrows, and weapons, and mounting an attack.
LOTS OF SPOTS TO CONFUSE THEIR ENEMY! XDD
BTW, haven't commented any of the resent works, but boy I have enjoyed each one of them. :D

I can honestly say that your work is always worth waiting for, no matter how long. The battledress, the weapons, the shield, the notched ears: even as sparse as the detail on the distant background is... it's all wonderful to look at. Your attention to detail is one of your strongest points, and it always has me studying your drawings.

Knowing the terrain is crucial to victory. That's why we lost the Vietnam War and why Afghanistan is so resilient against empires that try to hold onto it.
Love the work. Don't mind waiting, especially for something like this.
That is one bloody big horse!
I like that while each of the Herimash is dressed differently, you can tell they're all from the same group/army. There also seems to be a distinct hierarchy, based on armour, with the one on the right being in charge.
