I hate to suggest you go against your parents but you probably do know him better and know to some degree what you're getting into. Try to work things out with them if you can though.

age has never been a concern with my friends, one if my brothers (friends, i dont have any real brothers)is twenty three, one is twenty six. our familial friends range from thirteen to fifty, so you're ok there lol. how old are you? it doesn't say on your profile... if it does, i can't find it.
no one has ever bugged me about my parents, in fact they join in after they have met them...
