Guilty as charged, though in my defence, I'd note that 221B Baker Street is often depicted with well-stocked bookshelves, especially on the topics of crime and criminals (and thus Vidocq's memoirs would qualify), and Holmes is often shown performing primary research on topics. So while a certain amount of my own tastes in emporia have leaked in, I don't think it's a stretch that Holmes would be a regular customer at a rare bookstore.
