It was the same red dress that they had worn several times before, but this time it felt different.
“How do you feel?” asked Damien.
Camille just stood and blushed.
Camille had always had an interest in feminine fashion, even from an early age. Damien, being the supportive brother he is, had always encouraged that, wearing anything Camille wanted to wear. Even when Camille was nervous, Damien remained confident, and outgoing. He loved to show off the wardrobe that the two of them made together.
But this…this was a step that Camille would make alone.
“I…I’m ready,” said Camille. “I’m ready to show the world…that I am a woman.”
Damien looked at his sister in the mirror. She looked…happy. It reminded him of the first time they ever wore a dress.
“Are you…sure you are okay with this?” Camille asked her brother.
“Cami…you are the best sister I could ever ask for.” Damien said. “It doesn’t matter what the world thinks. I will always love you for who you are.”
Camille was on the verge of tears. “D-Dami…”
The road to self-discovery is not always easy. But even when the two of them took separate paths, she never felt like she had to make this journey alone.

Damien and Camille belong to me.
Damien uses he/him pronouns
Camille uses she/her pronouns
Btw…I use she/her pronouns now, too.
