Anvari Esrielda, Doctor, CMO Long's Light, Standard Year 9198

So, there's always a need for a doctor on any ship, and exploratory starships most of all. It helps when you have close to two millennia of experience, although not as who I am today. It also helps when you know more about genetics and genetic engineering than just about anyone alive. Almost a decade ago, I shed my old life, though. Grew tired of it, saw too many good things, too many things that told me the universe, for all its' perverse harshness, can be a better place than I'd given it credit for. Sailing the stars with a bunch of people who showed that man really HAD changed, become better, in ALL our myriad forms, and seeing that there's races even from other galaxies which are kind and compassionate, well, you can't see that and NOT change. So I changed. I shed the name Eileen Vanders and the title of Genetekker, which I'd worn for longer than I can remember even with a neural net, and became, finally and fully, Anvari Esrielda. Now, I'm a simple chief medical officer on an exploratory starship, one with a crew of good people.
