An accidental encounter:
Lupus had heard about the stories for some time, tales of another compassionate macro that would pay visit to the smaller cities. A whisper amongst folk that seemed impossible. This was a time where the white furred wolf had chosen to shrink and live amongst the tinier folk for a change, blend in. Camouflage. At least, that’s what he had hoped. A burden of his origins that he attempted to brush off his shoulders time and time again with a forced smile to the passerby.
“Morning, how are ya all?” he would whisper with an upright posture, and a wave.
Except, not this time. This time the stories were empty, barren. Lupus would spend some time to pause and work out this enigma, yet the acknowledgement that a macro had come to visit served as the answer. Although Lupus would want to get up and grow to greet the other titan, he feared giving up his cloak of invisibility he held with a tight grip. The opportunity to meet another caring giant, however, he could not give up.
With that thought, Lupus strode to the sounds of idle chatter near the coastline. It was there, at the beach. It had to be. The wolf thought, beaming with delight more and more at the thought of seeing another. Thousands-upon-thousands of potential introductions danced inside his mind, agitating Lupus’s equilibrium.
“Come on, now’s your chance. Your chance, to be accepted” he muttered under a breath, stepping closer to see the gleeful masses of civilians.
After walking for some time, he stopped by the outer rim of the crowd. Too small and petite to be noticed by the average citizen, let alone the giant. But he didn’t care, he could see him. A cyborg fox with a red and black furred outer lying, concealing the robotic components inside. The warming smile that exposed titanium-like spears of teeth, and eyes of a light blue. Each of which scanned across the fascinated crowd that surrounded the fox. Moguior was his name guessing from the idle chatter around Lupus.
The six-foot wolf watched every movement from the giant, his gentleness complimented by the smiling gaze of the tiny furs on his hands and blue-shorts. A conflict waged inside Lupus’s mind, deciding whether to shout to snatch Moguior’s attention or, to be quiet in hopes to be noticed. But, he could not think like that. Lupus had to give the robot-fox an opportunity to mingle amongst the other micro’s with grace. Inspecting every flex of those monolithic digits that rubbed across the fur’s backs with dexterity that betrayed his size.
There was no camera on earth that could give justice to the image before him. The sight of a micro beaming within the macro’s paw was enough. It could thaw almost any heart. And that was enough, Lupus had finally realised, he was not the only kind macro. Maybe a giant can be kind, it is not about being broken. It never was. It was about a choice, and a choice Lupus chose to keep. An oath, if you will.
‘With great size, comes great responsibility’
He snickered at the truthfulness of a comic quote, retreating from the crowd as he walked across the warm sand. Twirling around, the wolf parked his chiselled rump upon the sand and lay back against it, drifting into a slumber.
Thoom
Then, that’s when he felt it, knocking Lupus from his sleep as his eyes opened. A large booming rippled across the sand, attempting to massage his body with grace despite its power. Leaning up, the wolf turned to inspect his surroundings. And that’s when he saw him, the same giant from before. Moguior. Those ocean blue eyes were fixated on me, reflecting Lupus’s form back at him.
“And, hello there, lil guy”
The fox’s booming voice held a sense of calmness, singing down to me to ease any sense of concern from Lupus.
“Umm, hello…I saw you…”
“I know, I saw you. Mind if I join you, it seems you could use the company” the cyborg insisted, already in the process of twisting his gigantic cheeks just a few feet above the sand. His blue shorts stretched and pulled under the strain as Moguior sat down with a minor tremor. A tiny sandstorm knee high to Lupus covered the wolf from the impact site.
“Now, why did you leave?” he asked, jumping straight to the point. It only caught Lupus off guard as he stuttered for a moment.
“Well, I, uh, I…I wanted to give you a chance to be with the micro’s” Lupus paused for a second, realising he may have thrown away his cover by saying the word ‘micro’s’. What if Moguior realised Lupus' true identity.
“Well, did I pass?” the fox jokes, shifting his rump across the sand to get comfy as the tide just came up to his toe’s.
“With flying colours” Lupus replied, sending a wider smile across Moguior’s maw. Yet, there were no signs of the metal teeth from earlier. Extra marks, Lupus thought.
“Well isn’t that brilliant, thank you. Now, how about I treat you with something special” Moguior giggled, lowering a flat palm just a few metres from Lupus. The wolf focused on the awaiting palm, seeing it offer sanctuary despite the power it held.
“Ummm, s-sure” he replied, getting up and sitting down on the paw in a cross-legged position. Those cheeks from the fox perked before he raised his hand, lifting the wolf to meet his eyes.
“Well, your cute” Moguior spoke soothingly, the wolf could only blush at the sudden compliment. With a comforting gaze, Moguior manoeuvred the wolf between his two red-furred pecs. A muscled canyon was all the wolf could see before he was placed inside. Moguior began to tense and flex his pecs, securing Lupus’ grinning self inside. “Ahhh, there we go, nice and snug” the fox giggled.
“Oh, m-my…thank you, you are very strong” Lupus tried to hide his stutter, but it worked to no effect.
“Yes I am. Now, get comfy there whilst we get to know one another”
“Deal” Lupus replied, wiggling tighter between the flexing abs. Perhaps, Lupus is right about being a big macro. Now it is time to come out of the shadow’s. Being big is not a burden. Being big is power. Lupus had the right height to match the size of his heart.
