This scene is both all kinds of hilarious and one hell of a moment of awesome for Dem'mit.
I fully agree with Turo - his boss is the most likely source of the assassins. He really wanted to use the Sheebians as chattel and Dem'mit is in the way. Kill him and the rest will just steamroller the Sheebian representative. I mean, the guy couldn't be more obvious if he were wearing a, "I'M TRYING TO KILL YOU" armband. He's about as subtle as Deverall from Griffin Ranger.
Too bad for him it's just not that easy to kill a Y'vakkon.
