This is a very, very recent idea I had, but I feel it adds some additional “oh shit” to Gaze/Mirage, as if they needed anymore of it. As I’ve mentioned, Mirage and Gaze are the exact same person, though it’s a very back and forth pilot/co-pilot relationship. Despite how different they are, and how much they hate each other, they need each other.

At some point, Phantom tried to help him get rid of Mirage all together. But it was the equivalent of also removing a huge part Gaze, thus it backfired. Hard. This is the result of said incident and unfortunately it wasn’t temporary. This is an entity that isn’t Gaze or Mirage. It’s just the physical manifestation of horror.

They call him Ravage.

Luckily, Phantom, with help, managed to get Mirage back from within the depths of Gaze’s mind. However, because of how severe the removal was, it left a small setback. The already unstable Mirage has a small chance to lose complete hold on Gaze and allow Ravage to do his thing. Which is whatever he wants. Both of them aren’t a fan of it. Ravage has no personality, he doesn’t even talk. He’s just there. In order to return to normal, Phantom has to essentially almost kill Gaze, which will make Ravage retreat into his body.

Each time Ravage takes over, which has only happened three times, the black spreads more and more. No one knows what’ll happen to him if it spreads everywhere. Supposedly nothing good.
