So, after that fairly long hiatus (as much due to WFA's long queue as my finances), I've built up a few more Different Lesson illustrations again!

This is from Chapter 32. At this point in the story, Monkey has just been freed from dark chi possession by the Big Bad...but not in time to prevent him from killing Mantis (or so he thinks) for having figured out his secret. Overcome with remorse, he builds a cairn in his honor outside Chorh-Gom and says a prayer for his friend.

Although it turns out Mantis isn't dead, this is still a very emotional moment in the story, and it has repercussions not just plot-wise but in Monkey's character, as it helps him overcome the villain's influence and play a pivotal role during the final battle, so I felt it was still worth depicting. FYI, the hanzi on the cairn spells out both "Master Mantis" and the given name I supplied him with, Quon Heng.
