Montezuma decided that trespassing on Rakant's stomping grounds was an acceptable risk for the potential of gaining a sneak peak at some rather dangerous ethereal magic the dragon had been practicing. Rakant and Monte aren't strangers to one another, but their friendship is something of a... questionable relationship, see the dragon can be rather tolerable to the macaw's antics and often plays along just to amusement himself and the bird. There are things however that Rakant is private about, and he warns Montezuma that such privacy is not to be violated or there would be consequences. Whether Monte took these warnings/threats seriously or simply disregarded them, only the macaw will know.
Monte got to witness Rakant channeling some objects with ethereal energy, but unfortunately, Monte did not cover his scent and tracks well enough to escape Rakant's notice. A brief chase later and Monte finds an unfortunate root protruding up from the ground that sends the macaw tumbling head over heels until his back touches the ground with a thud! Not even five seconds later Rakant is standing over Monte with narrowed eyes (Monte could swear he even spotted one of them twitch briefly). Monte assumed the consequence would be annoying, at the worst he would be stuffed into a cage for awhile; what he didn't expect was for the obsidian's maw to stretch wide, blasting the macaw with hot dragon breath. Rakant was threatening to devour the Macaw, Monte raises a arm and loudly protests! The real question is, would Rakant listen? Does he intend to scare Montezuma? Or will his friend actually follow through and devour him? In just a few seconds, Monte will figure out just how far Rakant is willing to go with 'consequences'!

Scary sight.
It is not an easy or wise thing to trifle with a dragon on his turf without being punished
You either must be brave or foolish to try and ask these powerful but sometimes cruel beast for favor or to share the secrets... or maybe the desperation made him to seek the secrets in such dangerous places
But anyway the art is quite impressive in terms of how menacing your dragon is looking and the emotions of terror that froze on the face of bird-man
