Brittney: "This photo was taken years ago, like when I was in 6th grade. It brings back some happ memories, even if I had braces back then.

The woman is my late Mother, Elaine Barker. She was always supportive of me, even when I felt like a wimp. However, during my Junior year of High School, she fell sick. The doctors did all they could, but they couldn't save her. It's sad really. She never saw me graduate High School, or start college, or begin my career as a fighter.

My dad. Ted Barker, has always cared about me, and he went out of his way to hide how hurt he was no matter what. I guess he wanted me to see him as someone very strong. He even supressed all his tears after Mom died, but it was clear to me how much pain he was in.

That's also the reason he didn't approve of my goals as a fighter at first. He knows how dangerous that life path is, and he didn't want to lose both his wife and his daughter. If it weren't for Kentaro convincing him to trust me, I wouldn't have even been allowed in a school ring.

Whenever I look at this, I get motivated, even when I'm feeling down. It's like Mom's still looking after me, even though she's gone."
