You know, Nigel's Bro? Did he make it as a Guardian? Did he get exiled? Or... Did he die?

I wonder if neither he could become a Guardian since would have done too just because his parents wanted and when he failed they just dropped him at the orphanage like "I can't believe we wasted sp many years for TWO losers ! YOUR side !"

...If that happened, I suspect Nigel would be like the Heavy in "The Medic Guide" when medic was made to chose between Heavy and Scout... Where he points at both his Parents and goes "HAH!" with a Russian accent...

...But considering he was implied to care about his brother, I wonder if he would Join the Guardians for Toby's Sake... Or go on an Ear-Splitting Tirade on Luna, not for ruining (Nigel's) Life, but for making his Little Bro suffer just as much as he had... THEN join the Guardians afterwards.

It's interesting to see how things changed during the years, before there seemed to be many candidates, looking to follow the path of the Guardian, the gods were alive and well, and Luna seemed to be in better spirits.
Now years later, hardly anyone wants to be a guardian, and unless I'm mistaken, all but one of the gods are dead.
Things really haven't developed very well.

It's Alexander, there's no ambiguity, he's literally the only God that's left, aside from Luna and Rahjan, that's still alive, though from the looks of things he seems to be in a bit of trouble, judging from how his stone is flickering.
That and he's part of the main cast alongside his daughter, so it wouldn't really make sense to kill him of before anyone sees him in the main story.
All that aside I'm sure we'll eventually see what he's been up, what struggles he's been having to overcome.

Do you mean that Luna is doing this based on a vision? Hmm. Okay, I guess. However, considering how difficult the situation is for the world, as well as for those who protect it, in everything related to the fight against Chaos, even more so if one takes into account that there are not enough guardians to carry out such a task, plus the fact that there have been no Knights for over a hundred years, plus the fact that all the gods are dead except for one (Alexander), I don't think there's a better time to pick new Knights than now, which is something that I really want to see.

I am thinking we soon may see the death of the tree herself, and I am not looking forward to it.

In the old Q&A, it was clearly explained that this relationship was... difficult.
Sure, there has been a change, but which one?
And then the base hasn't changed too much, but it's this base that interests me a lot. Because unlike the others, we've known this relationship and all that it implies for much longer than the beginning of the comic.

I'm likely asking a dumb question but I really don't remember if it was mentioned but who do the stones represent?

Each stone represents a god of an element. :)
Water, Earth, Wind, Fire, Light, Darkness + Life and death.

The one that still shines means that god is still alive.

Those stones and gods were mentioned first starting around the 70th page of Book 0. :)
