This is the kitchen and living room combo of the small apartment I created. Another big learning experience for me. It went through many iterations and I did not use a reference image. I deliberately choose to make a medium sized, single floor flat. It gave a nice challenge in terms of furnishing the space. I had to cut the kitchen part and heavily modify it. Added a few cupboards and the sink of my own, as the oven (which you cant really see here) did not fit in the asset I had at hand. If you wonder, the thing on the left wall is a neon sign which is hard to make out from this angle.

As for lighting I choose to try and light this scene again purely indirect by the windows. No area lights, no light portals. Just the sun and atmosphere casting light through a (slightly) complex glass shader. Next on that list is a night setup for dialing in the interior lamps.
This kitchen and livingroom area I consider finished, the main entrance is also done. Bathroom and Bedroom have walls, ceilings and floors finished with textures and materials, just have to furnish those too. Exterior is completed far enough to cover all window views, but its not fully done for exterior only shots.
