Laptops are usually warm, and cats like warm places to nap. And when you're not looking at her she takes that as friendly and tries to see you.

LOLOL! My cat used to do that do me too, but I think it was rather because the of the heat coming from the laptop, rather than badness XD

I think its both the warmth and the fact that my being on the computer takes my attention away from Her Highness. Sometimes, she tries to 'help me type', which is adorable and aggravating at the same time...

Clarification: our cat spends alot of time staring into the aquarium with our blue fish and she occasionally tries to 'touch' the fish, but she usually just drinks the water

XD its like my moms cat and my brothers cat, those two get into all sorts of shenanigans together while looking too cute to stay mad at, especially considering my brothers cat can actually get at the kitty treats reguardless of where they stash them, she can get into them, be it in the cupboard or on top of the fridge, there's no real way to hide them, since she can open the cupboard door and jump ontop of the fridge and get into the bag, splitting the loot with my moms kitten.

We also have a couple of 6-month-old kittens, and right now as a matter of fact I can hear them thumpity-thumping back and forth across the hardwood floor upstairs. Back... (thumpity-thumpity-thump) and forth (thumpity-thumpity-thump)... this will go on until at least 3 am.

XD my moms cat is like that too, he rips and tears around her apartment.
