Sorry for the late reply (I just randomly read this comment). I'm the one who commissioned the suit and yup, I'm a guy. I just bought women's go-go dancer type platform boots, made from vinyl/pvc off of eBay. I took suggestions from 
magpiebones on what to get and for sizing. These boots fit pretty well, even though the boots were made for women's feet.
