So I was getting rid of some old books that I don't need in my bookshelf, where I found my old drawing book. I took a glance in it and I found my old drawing of a fish that explodes into blood when it died. I figured, that might be a great addition for this Halloween
--DATABANK--
The Bloody Tuna is a fairly large fish, fully grown ones can reach up to 124cm in length.
It can swim at a fairly fast speed, reaching up to 40 mph. It tend to form large schools. But it's most surprising act of defense is what gave it it's name. An organ called a Blood Poach lies just below it's belly. Should the tuna got injured, the poach would bursts, releasing a large amount of blood to the surrounding. This will not only frighten predators, but also act as a cover for the tuna to flee. The blood would react with saltwater and become odorless, that way the blood won't attract sharks. Both the Blood Poach and the belly will quickly regenerates, and won't pose much health problem for the tuna.
The Bloody Tuna is edible, but should be prepared properly first, or it would make a HUGE mess. Chefs should chop the tail off and allow the blood to completely drained out. Now the fish can be safely slaughtered.
Assessment: Edible, but careful not to get a "Bloody Mary Surprise"
