Hulkvixen is Not Amused ~by Lana
Okay, this one deserves a little explanation first.
Last month, I had received a lovely notice in the mail from my apartment complex, stating I hadn't paid my rent. To make said notice better, it also had a subpoena attached to it demanding me to go to court for non-payment.
This would normally bother and frighten most people. Why was my fear replaced with rage?
Well, besides from the fact I have never been late with any payments in my life...EVER, the amount had already been withdrawn from my bank account. That withdrawal was credited to THE WRONG APARTMENT.
You see, where I live, there are two separate complex sides on the same property, so there are two apartments that have the same apartment number, one on each side. Having lived there for over 2 YEARS, and having clearly marked which apartment I was in, for reasons I will never understand, they gave my payment to the apartment on the other side of the property. That property two rent payments, and I had zero. And instead of contacting me, or checking the reason why one apartment had twice as much money credited for rent payment, they went straight to the lawyer to pin the blame on me for being a delinquent tenant.
Needless to say, I was not amused.
The issue has since been resolved (with plenty of excuses given on their end), but having told
la-la-lana of my plight, she drew this sketch to cheer me up. It made me feel much better once I had settled the problem, but at that moment, it was a perfect capturing of how I felt....a perfect moment to let my wholly unoriginal alt, Hulkvixen, out to play.
So, for those of you living in an apartment, a word of advice - hold onto ALL of your documents, payment stubs and receipts. You never know when it can get you out of some serious trouble.
(Thanks again, Lana, by the way!)

Hopefully if this ever happens again the people at your office will have sufficient reason to not jump to conclusions...lest of course they really want to go shopping for new office furniture....and a new office.
I actually had a similar incident at my current place. For whatever reason my automatic deposit for the first month's rent didn't go through, and rather than notifying me about it so I could pay via another means, my complex's accounting department thought it better to just keep quiet until enough time had passed for them to add late fees and put a black mark on my record. I eventually got it sorted out, but I definitely felt about the same way you did when I found out about it.

Hmmm. btw Becky... I just decided on a little gamble. (tho the payoff if you can answer correctly wont be bad for either of us :P) name the 2 DC characters who 'borrowed' the Hulk smash line in an animated series and i'll get a commish done of ya (and me most likely, but... :P).
serious.. tho if you do name it, might be a wait 'till i got any spare cash :P
