After the events of Equestria girls special episode Mirror magic, Sunset Shimmer and her friends gave themselves a 2 weeks holidays in Los Angeles and started their stay with a tour of Universal studios with Trixie Lulamoon having a filmaker father working there and she convinced him to hire Fluttershy, Twilight and Applejack to get a small role for the shooting of his new movie where he was looking for 3 teenage girls with special hair without resorting to dyeing, which was very good timing for the girls who gladly accepted this opportunity and the shooting will last 5 days for 6 hours of work.
At the end of 5 days of rather trying shooting for the trio, the final sequence contains a hostage situation in which the girls had to take up a rather difficult challenge where they had to spend 3 hours solidly tied/gagged to chairs while witnessing a shooting between policemen and gangsters where the detonation of rifles and pistols loaded with blanks are rather strong and not easy to bear by dint of rehearsals and different shots where they have to display fear, the stress and the anguish of fearing a bullet that could kill them as collateral victims in the final montage.
