"Axioma" released two of its landing abordage craft. On board now is a group of space marines who have been sitting in a cramped ship for a very long time and now they can't wait until they manage to fight a little.
This is a bad sign for pirates...

Reading about space ships remind me something - but I am not well known into Startrek, so its hard for me to create a my own ship.
A long, long time ago, I was thinking about the design of the spaceship on which young Mark Sanders once served.
"Axioma," or "Kioma" as it was called earlier in the Federation.
- This is an old decommissioned destroyer (I think about German wear U-boats in WW2) that was bought by a private military company based on Earth. This company has signed contracts with mining companies to protect remote trade routes from bandits, pirates, and various other lovers of other people's property. (They have a bunch of different ships - so they don't care about something that is "not weapon or obstacle for mission" - so a bunch of "comfort" systems is permanently broken.)
This is a rather large ship that looks like an elongated rectangular transporter - only of large dimensions.
The ship is equipped with a quantum reactor, and an air conditioner - which sometimes does not work and water sometimes drips from the ventilation grille onto the couch where Mark sleeps. A replicator is installed on the ship - which even works sometimes. In the back of the ship, there are 4 maneuvering engines - one of which is not working, and 3 cruise engines, which give the ship a decent speed.
The hydraulic system leaks too - so living there, is running with repairs faster - than sometimes fell out...
And also a teleportation device - but it broke and caught fire years ago, and it was successfully dismantled by turning the premises into a food warehouse...
To tell the truth, - it is an outdated decommissioned, and worn-out ship that is living out its age.
But the ship is equipped with a powerful laser cannon at the front, 4 launchers for new intelligent homing space torpedoes, as well as a very powerful system of radio interception, decoding, installation of radio interference, and radio-electronic warfare.
The ship has a hangar in which there are 2 space shuttles for assault teams, which can accommodate a maximum of 10 people including two pilots.
The ship's crew consists of three assault teams of 10 people each - two combat and one reserve, as well as the "Echo" team - for evacuation and emergency work on the surface.
The remaining 30 people are pilots, tacticians, commanders, and technical personnel. So the whole crew of the ship is about ~70 people.
A "rectangular" ship that is an analogue of the German hunting submarine/ destroyer of the Second World War.
In the front part there are two launchers for smart torpedoes, which are themselves intelligent drones with explosives. And also a large hidden laser beam cannon.
In the upper part, the dome of radio-electronic devices, radar, listening to the ether, radio interference... ECM.
Also a small retractable "anti-aircraft" gun, which is very obsolete in the CU universe - but very cheap.
At the back, there are three electric (powered from the core) marching engines, and three maneuvering engines, which are much smaller. (One even not work anymore, - becouse company can't find the spare parts.)
In the lower part, there is a hatch in the hangar where two unarmed landing shuttle are located - it does not fit of more.
At the time of the my events, this is already an incredibly outdated ship that the modern generation has no business with it anymore.
A private military company purchased a large number of various ships, found soldiers and crews, and organized the protection of trade routes.
Some of the systems and units on the ship do not work, and even the crew doubts that it can be fixed - although the ship stil does its main job.
The ship extends its antennae and passively flies in the asteroid belts listening to the ether. From time to time talking to transporters flying by. But if one of the transporters sends an alarm signal, they localize the place, and quietly approaching from behind, - destroy the pirate ship.
If the pirates were able to capture the ship, - the boats under disguise join the locks and the assault team destroys the pirates.
Of course, their priority is to protect the team - but let's be honest... If the team died - then the priority is the transporter and cargo, - their salary and bonuses depend on it.
In my world, only money, wars, business and indifference.
Therefore, after identifying the killed team members, they conducted a "funeral by engine" - the bodies wrapped in a tarpaulin were taken out of the airlock and a person in a space suit placed them in front of the engine nozzle - the ship gave a short propulsion pulse, - and the bodies became a cloud of plasma in the endless space.
The crew, of course, lined up near the portholes paying their last respects - but let's be real, no one in the company cares about the death bodies.
Then they guarded the ship until the "return team" from the company arrived and taking the "rescued" ship.
As for little Star - the management did not know what to do with the child, but great friend of Mark and the ship's doctor Mike offered to give the kitten to wounded Sanders - no one objected. No person - no problem...
Then the child grew up a little and Mark gradually turned from a deadly tired suicidal cynic into a loving father.
Once the company traced the whereabouts of the head of the cartel and ... The soldiers landed, killed everyone, seized all the valuables to make it look like a cartel war, and all the information to tracking and destroying all cartel seeking ships. In this method they better protect their clients and gained more bonuses. (Mining company pay for killed pirate ships.)
Mark received a solid reward and returned to Earth with Star.
Why is no one interested in the fate of chakat?
...Nobody doesn't care, only Mark and hir granny Autumnleaf care about hir.

(Chronology always was a real pain for me.) So when I finish my plans I will try to put everything in order. If I can...
