In which I realized that, despite having a lot in common with raccoons (dark circles under my eyes, an uncanny ability to find coins on the ground, being fat, being a scavenger, wanting to get hit by a car, etc.), I have never depicted myself as a raccoon or otherwise designed myself a raccoon avatar in the 20ish years I've been drawing (aside from quite recently with Kendall, who hasn't quite ascended to "alternate fursona" status yet) so this happened.
Kinda surprised it took this long, and that I started off with a Skunk Boy and not a Raccoon Boy as my self-parody/self-loathing turned main fursona...
Find Me On:
FurAffinity ◈ Weasyl
Meet Nick Domnall, in kemonomimi and full raccoon form. I haven't really decided which is canon, or if *both* are, and much like Tex and Dominic Mephitto, he has a were-form that comes out when he sees a full dumpster... or if he'll even be canon at all as he does just seem like a reskin of Skunk Boy in many ways. On the other hand, since Skunk and Raccoon are both trash creatures and are two of the three North American Starter Pokemon (the third, of course, being Opossum), maybe they're friends or something.
Is his name actually "Dominick" and he goes by "Nick" because "Dominic" is as common a name in my universe as "Kevin" was at my elementary school? Or is it just a mildly clever name because "nick" is slang for "steal" and that's what raccoons are stereotyped for? The world may never know...

I've actually given that a bit of thought, since I have a few characters that can transform--my guess is the feeling of the muzzle morphing is a lot like having really bad sinus pressure for a few seconds, and maybe the feeling like you're going to sneeze. Not exactly comfortable, but not incredibly painful either!
Growing fur all over one's body rapidly is probably kinda itchy, though, and might feel weird under clothes...

Oh we're just gonna act like skunkboys don't exist now?! lol
I've actually got another raccoonboy in my canon, a little toddler named Filbert, and my roommate and I designed an alternate fursona for him years ago that's a fat half-raccoon manchild that can annoy Skunk Boy in role-play or whatever, so this guy will fit right in with the rest of the Garbage Gang.
I already drew Nick (not sure if that's short for "Dominick" or not, I was originally going to go with "Nic" but "Nick" is what stuck) full-body too, looking as depressed as usual.

My universe's rules are weird and I don't even follow them--humans aren't even supposed to be compatible with herbivores yet I have TWO donkeyboys.
I give a sensible chuckle whenever I post art of Dawson or Big Jack, who are just mules (it's technically correct, the best kind of correct, since they're human/donkey hybrid guys) wind up in the favorites of someone whose sexual awakening was the Pleasure Island scene in Pinocchio.
I need to draw Filbert again, maybe design the rest of his family, and figure out how closely related he is to Nick at some point too...
Depression is my default state because everything is shit and things are not okay, but I try not to talk about my personal problems too openly.

"My universe's rules are weird and I don't even follow them"- painfully relatable LOL
oh hey speaking of that donkey sexual awakening, do you ever get upset when certain characters are sexualized in comments? or does it not really bother you?
also ah man, I'm so sorry to hear that :[
would you ever want to open up about some of that stuff?

Glad I'm not the only one that establishes (or sorta establishes) rules for their universe but then does something that doesn't quite follow those rules and decides they like it enough to roll with it anyways!
Honestly I don't know how I feel about those sort of comments, I used to be way more reserved than I am now and it used to make me vaguely uncomfortable sometimes, but then again I *was* the one drawing fat cartoon animals in their underwear showing their butts and then making the decision to post that online, so I probably brought it on myself?
Anyways, I usually don't mind too much now, so long as it's not blatantly creepy, and even when it is I just sorta lean into it as a joke and deflect it with my weird sense of humor. You want to do WHAT to Skunk Boy's butt?! Terrible idea, that's where skunks keep their chemical weapon!
I guess with some characters it bugs me a bit more than others, like some of my characters like Buck or Domarion or Markeb are massive sluts so it's definitely expected, but all the weird comments I get when I draw the bashful himbo space janitor Domec in his underwear kinda baffle me. Buck Donner has a bullseye ON HIS ASS and he's presenting in over half the art of him I draw and every description is full of weird innuendo about "mounting this trophy", yet people wanna thirst for the (probably asexual) space janitor?
Oh, I wasn't gonna be too open about things, especially publicly, BUT I sorta went on a ramble about one of the reasons LIFE IS A FUCK when replying to one of your other comments... Honestly I try not to open up too much in public, you know? It just makes people uncomfortable, and it makes me irrationally angry when I post some sad character art and everybody concern-trolls me, but the moment I actually need help or support it's fucking crickets.
