I had the honor of being in the presence of a rare Indian Moon Moth (aka Indian Luna Moth) at my parents house. I was on their back porch with my mom, brother, little sister, and my fiance who was in the pool. It was late at night when I saw this HUGE winged creature flying around the light onto our back porch.
It was around 8" wide. It kept flying into my mothers flower plants when my little brother went to try to go get it.. It flew out and landed right on my hair and looked like a giant Barret.
I couldn't believe it... It was so beautiful.. It stayed in my hair for a good 2 minutes, long enough to take snap shots of it.
It stayed at my parents house for 2 days before it vanished. I hope it got to fulfill its' soul purpose.
Moon Moths are said to have no mouths, and are said to be one of the largest species of moth and that they only live for a week. Their soul purpose when they turn into a moth is to mate.
I just recently found this out when I was watching this youtube video.

Around 3:45 into the video I saw the creature and was like "O.O OMG! I KNOW THAT MOTH!"
Did some research into the moth and felt so heart warming that I had this chance to meet that moth. I called it Jeffrey lol.
I'll be posting some more pictures of this magnificent creature in a bit.
Pls don't steal my photo's. Or post them anywhere without my permission.
Thank you!

The largest moth in the world is actually the Atlas Moth, I've seen a Luna and Atlas moth up close and it is HUUUUGE compared to the Luna moth!

I seen 2wo in grade school, a big 1ne in highschool, and 3hree this year (though 1ne was dead :'c). I got lucky those times when you say they are rare :3 and I am being absolute with my claims of seeing them. I am kinda jeolous you got 1ne to land on you :3 though I had many different moths use my face as a rest stop but never a Luna Moth. 1ne moth actually stayed on my face for a solid 20 minutes :D
ya they are beautiful creatures indeed, I need to remember how rare they are the next time I see 1ne then. Never know when you may meet these gorgous moths again, so it is best to capture the moment as you did so I better go get a camera ready for when I get that next chance :3
