I think I will personally interpret their wet fur and lack of pawprints to mean that they've been standing head-to-head sharing soft affections for at least a few hours while the tide came in and receded again. Even if that was not the intention it is a lovely thought! ^^
Such a delightful feast for the eyes with use of color and light and much tighter detail as well broader expressionistic brushstrokes to invoke emotions. The difference in sharpness/softness of the reflections in the water of the cliffs and the two characters to me creates an emotional space/bubble around them rather than being directly embedded into wild nature as is more the case for https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45066487/ where the character is engaged/part of the scene rather than being caught up in their own shared world with another. : )
(Both work, of course, but invoke a different "context" and mood to this viewer anyhow ^^)
I wonder if most artists might have cut the lower frame line closer to the characters, but that is far from "empty space", drawing the viewer in to soft reflections of the characters and the sweep of the bay. <3
Welcome back, talented one!
