My half of an art trade with Maggock. Done in the usual method of real media for the birbs (mostly markers) and composited digitally.
For some of these birds there are no photos, preserved skins, or even color drawings. Some are known only from bones and written descriptions, and were last seen in the 16 or 1700's.
We have 1 from North America, 1 from South America, 3 from the Caribbean Islands, 1 from Australia, 2 from the South Pacific, 4 from the Mascarene Islands, 1 from Norfolk Island and 1 from the Seychelles.

The Cuban Red macaw's resemblance of the Scarlet macaw to an untrained eye made my heart stop for a moment, as I briefly feared the most iconic red parrot might have gone extinct while I wasn't paying attention (crazier things than that have happened in my lifetime).
Conservation status: Least Concern.
