a doodle i had in the backburner for literal years that i decided to render and turn into an actual piece! these are my two main ocs, originally used for warriors roleplays, but now they're just general characters i use for whatever comes to mind.

augury is a thousand-dollar oriental shorthair pet, who spends his days as his older brother umbra's shadow. he is also a seer, able to interact with spirits (general ghosts or starclan cats) and sometimes his dreams speak of future events. think of this soft kittypet as a vessel chosen by the spirits through which they communicate with the outside world. augury has no control over his powers, though, and is unable to force himself to have futuristic dreams or see spirits.

on the other hand, we have flame, or flamepaw. he's an apprentice with a lot of baggage weighting him down. he's the son of the colony's powerful leader, and is expected to lead the colony and pass on his heritage to the next generation once he's of age. his dam and sire are strict, and aren't exactly the loving kind. his colony also expects a lot from him, and the mollies are all lining up waiting to be chosen as the maine coon's mate. although he's grateful for the life he's been given, he isn't exactly fond of all the responsibilities bearing unto him. at nights he sneaks out of the colony's territory for a breather. that's where augury and flamepaw meet.

an unlikely friendship between a feral forest cat and a pet eventually blossoms into romance. their secret meetings take place at an apartment complex rooftop, and lasts way past flame's promotion--now flamepath--until he finally manages to convince augury to join his colony.
