This isn't exactly the Liane you all know. This is Liane from an alternate universe. She grew up as a Space Marine brat, moving from planetary base to base with her parents and eventually of course joined the service herself. Here she is just playing around on a makeshift swing she made of cables during a slow time aboard ship.
Of the patches you see, some are repairs of injuries and others are armor and communications devices. All are covered by or entirely made of an ultralight and strong alloy made of meteoric ores and held in place with nano-bonding. The spiral around her lower leg is a magnetically secured shield that self-activates in case of a hit by energy weapon.
She carries some scars from past actions, but isn't likely to get more unless her ship is attacked, since her present assignment as an instructor in special tactics keeps her busy aboard ship. Of course, in the event of a space battle, all bets are off!
This is the third and final picture of Liane swinging for today. The first two being.. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4955346 and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4956531

Al's gotta be there too... Liane at the helm of an airship maybe?
oh... Al at the wheel with liane holding a steampunk pistol, a lightning gun maybe, with a sabre in her other paw pointing forwards... both in leather with you having a light bronze chestplate and some mail skirting with Al in heavier leather armor, three flintlocks pistols down each thigh, and large knife?

Cute huh? I knew
xeladaria wanted to do some sci-fi type stuff so I told her to use Liane and surprise me with something. We both had swings on the brain and anyway, this is what she came up with. I like it too!!!

Oh, my! Now this one is different! She looks a lot fiercer, somehow, than she ever has before, and that's counting the first picture of this little series! But I can't help but love the idea of a tough, fierce bunny, and even with all the hardware she still looks every bit as cute and cuddly as she always does. She has excellent taste in underwear, too, and no matter which universe she comes from, she's still incredibly sexy. I'll be she's one bunny you do not want to mess with in a firefight, either.
She should look fierce. She's a battle scarred veteran of several tough actions. And though you're entirely right about her being formidable in a firefight, nothing can stop her innate joy of life and bunny sexiness from shining through.
I'm really happy to have found
xeladaria ! She does lovely art and deserves a lot more notice than she gets.

Well,
xeladaria had told me a while back that she would thought there wasn't enough sci-fi art around here and she'd like to get known as a sci-fi artist. So I told her to take Liane and surprise me with something. This is what she came up with! :)

That does admittedly take some getting used to. I would do her patches larger and more centralized were I planning the picture. Make them look patterned rather than as they are. But this was a pic where I gave the artist rein to do as she pleased and I'm not unhappy with the result. I kind of think of her as a patchwork bunny. :)
Maybe she'll grow on you. She did me. ;3

Well, I would obviously do it signficantly differently. I'm a cybernetic minimalist, very little on the outside, most of it internal.
A small piece on the side of her head, a small device on the back and hip, maybe a headset that plugs in, possibly a cybernetic enhancement on the right forearm, that's all.

I have to agree that most of the equipment would tend to be internal in a real life situation. Myself, I adore the concept of nano-technology and the wonderful opportunities it could open up. Some of the cyber-punk authors, like William Gibson and others, have written some great stuff about nano. And it would most likely tend to be invisible except for radical physical changes for specific purposes.
This is still a fun pic though, even if your and my ideas for cyber enhancement don't jive with
xeladaria s. :) (And Liane is still a hot bunny too!!! =p)

I've never had an artist turn out just what I saw inside. But yes, for a specific picture that you want 'just so' you want to have someone tried and true. I try new ones and just come up with an idea for them to do so I can see what they do with it sometimes. That's how I found
xeladaria and got the swinging pictures and others from her. Took a flyer on her and like her art.

More low key. Liane doesn't care to fight, and weapons are one of her turn-offs. So something non-violent. Futuristic background. Somewhere in this city perhaps. http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&a.....efley#/d2tfi1l (BTW you should check out this artist's other work. They are amazing!!)
Doesn't like anything foreign inside her. So all her lovers are domestic? =p
(sorry...you set yourself up WAY too well for me to let that pass)
Anyway, you just have to take your chances on the EMP's and as long as your equipment isn't knocked out by one, you are ahead of the game. If it is you aren't any worse off than someone without.
