Once the introductions and quick additional explanations were made - and once Hardy shrunk back to normal and got picked up by Lippy's saucer - all three ships began going away from the planet.
"So, um..." began awkwardly Top Cat. "Could you bring us back to our universes, please?"
"No," answered Race. "Not yet. I need you to come with me to the Doc."
"Who?"
"Doctor Benton Quest. My boss and the leader of the Bulwark."
"The what?"
"Short version, the organization opposing the Sapientists, the ones who kidnapped you. Doc will give you the longer version at the HQ. In return, we need you to tell us everything in detail that happened. It could be extremely important."
"No kidding," muttered Fancy-Fancy. "So, uh, how we get to your universe?"
"Just lock on the Dragonfly and follow me, it'll guide you for the jump."
When this was done, the three ships began accelerating as Race programmed a new jump.
A few more instants of accelerating, and they vanished from this universe to reappear in another.
"Woof, what a shock!" yelped Choo-Choo. "No wonder you call it a jump!"
"It always has this effect," admitted Bannon. "You get used to it."
After a few more instants of travel, the three ships reached approached...
"Earth!" exclaimed happily the former prisoners.
It was indeed Earth that the ships approached, entering the atmosphere.
A quick descent brought them close to Florida, approaching a small island while night fell on it.
"Palm Key," said Race. "The Quest compound and the Bulwark's HQ in this universe."
"In this universe?" repeated Dibble.
"A few more minutes, and you'll have your answers."
The three ships landed on the airstrip next to the compound.
It was with relief that the group got out of the Ragnarok and of the saucer, happy to be back to a semblant of normalcy, even if it was just a semblant.
The lion, the hyena, the six cats and the human followed Bannon through the compound, while a bunch of people - engineers, judging by their clothes - began "assaulting" the Ragnarok and the saucer.
They eventually reached a room filled with technological stuff.
"Wow. Gotta admit, this place's swanky," commented with a smile Lippy.
"Glad you like it," deadpanned an unknown voice.
A man came out of the shadows, a red-haired scientist.
As he approached, various holograms activated around the room.
They were of many different people, all looking unique. Like a spaceman whose outfit evoked a ghost, or a man with wings and a costume evoking the sun.
"Welcome to the Bulwark," said the man that, the refugees guessed, was the doctor Benton Quest.
"A pleasure to meet you," replied Top Cat, taking the lead. "Well, technically all of you but mainly you, since you're the only one here who's not a hologram. You're very hologram-centric, here."
"The Bulwark's an organization that spans multiple universes. Rare are the openings that allow to meet in person."
"Point taken."
"You must wonder why you are here."
"Not really, your right-hand man told us you had to hear about what happened on that crappy prison. And it's way better here than there. He said that it was about something called the Snakeists?"
"The Sapientists. Somewhere between a cult and an army. They came from another universe, trying to conquer others. They have subjugated many, but others, like this one, managed to repel them, and kept fighting. By reverse-engineering datas and technology taken as loot of battle, these universes managed to contact each other, and agreed to defend the multiverse against the threat."
"Cool story!" exclaimed Benny.
"Thank you. Now, we would like to hear yours. Race didn't enter in details."
The former prisoners spoke of the recent events.
"...Bigger than the planet?!" finally exclaimed Quest.
"If you want, I can give you a demonstration," smirked Hardy.
"A smaller one, please. I like my compound and I'd prefer it to stay intact."
Chuckling, Hardy called on the power of the Star anew.
The people behind the holograms gasped in shock as they watched the puny hyena swell into a juggenaut who could easily fit ten professional bodybuilders in his bulk.
"Amazing," whispered Quest. "And you say it's thanks to this star that bonded to you?"
"Yeah, the jailers called it a Silver Super Star. And they say there are others."
A deathly silence followed these words.
"Others?! Are you sure?!" exclaimed Quest.
"That's what they said," confirmed Lippy. "There's actually one in the Ragnarok."
"The Sapientist attacks have been rarer these last days," whispered the "ghost" hologram.
"They must be looking for these artifacts, changing their strategy," added the "bird" hologram.
"If they manage to get their hands on them..."
"It would be a disaster!"
"Can you stop them?!" exclaimed Hardy.
"We'll put our best assets in searching for the other Silver Super Stars," replied Quest. "But we need your help, mister Hardy."
Hardy turned towards Lippy.
Who turned towards Top Cat, his gang and Dibble.
All of them, after only one second of hesitation, nodded.
"You have it!" swore the hyena.
"We're ready to help too!" added Top Cat.
"Are you saying you intend to join the Bulwark?" asked Benton.
"If it can help to stop these bastards? Oh, hell yes!"
"Help is always welcome," smiled the doctor. "Welcome in the organization, all of you."
The epic moment was ruined by Brain yawning.
"It seems you're tired," teased Race.
And indeed, all of them, even Hardy as he went back to his normal proportions, felt a sudden wave of fatigue crash on them as the adrenaline that carried them all these hours finally abandoned them.
"Race, could you bring them to the guest rooms, then come back?"
"Of course. Follow me, people."
The group stammered thanks and good nights before following the bodyguard.
As they walked in the corridors of the compound, the exhaustion kept catching up to them.
So much that once they reached the guest rooms, they barely had the strength to thank Race, crawl in the beds, wish one last good night, and collapse in sleep.
Race let a chuckle out at this sight, before leaving them and joining back the doctor, who was busy coordinating with the other branches of the Bulwark to relay the news and prepare a strategy for this new mission...
