Guess who has some historyyyy~
In all fairness, if you’re the first golden winged Angel born after thousands upon thousands of years, that’s going to draw attention. But in this case, Ryker knows Reyes personally. Too bad Reyes has no clue who he is. Why?
Because leaving Sydoria may not have made him Fallen, but it did mess up his memory of it. Reyes didn’t have permission to leave, which an Angel needs in order to not Fall since it’s seen as betrayal to their home. Instead, our boy here has amnesia and can only remember bits and pieces of his home and who lives there. Unfortunately, Ryker was not one of those people, despite being incredibly important to him.
Now, if Reyes had only left once, maybe twice, without permission, his memory wouldn’t be so poor. But he left more than several times before realizing he was having problems remembering people who knew him and where everything was. Despite literally growing up in Sydoria for years, he couldn’t even remember his own house. Shortly after, he left, thinking he had nothing or no one left to stay for if he couldn’t remember. Maybe if he remembered promising Ryker he’d never leave him, this interaction would go very differently.

Exactly. He never had any ill will towards Ryker or Sydoria itself, just (most) of the people within it. That, and his attempts at quelling those of greed in the Mortal realm really distracted him. He did become distant, but that part of him was more from frustration of not knowing who anyone was or where he even belonged. Unfortunately, Ryker holds a lot of resentment towards him, he was supposed to be his mentor and best friend. That, and a lot transpired before this happened that really made Ryker hold a grudge. But once again, it’s all a huge misunderstanding.
I was right! yay! XD
Aww. Poor Ryker suffers from his would-be teacher's work. ;-; This is a really good plot here. I love social conflict like this. ^!^ It's got a chance to end peacefully after it build up and leads to major conflict. ^!^ No one's really evil, but there's an illusion of evil.
