XD Well, despite the fact that I don't like singing in Rock Band, I do actually like Rock Band.
I'm a big fan of music and rhythm games in general, really. I'm Japanese, so I'm not bad at DDR, of course XD
Puzzle and puzzle action games are awesome. I will destroy you at Tetris Attack c:
...Puzzle action music games like Lumines and Chime are awesome, too. XD
I also do enjoy quite a few RPGs, too, it's just that Final Fantasy is basically the original stereotypical fantasy RPG XD Games like Paper Mario and Earthbound are my kind of RPGs.
Art games make me happy. Things such as flOw, Sleep is Death, and Passage, for example.
Weird games that are weird/disturbing/FUCKING SCARY WHAT IS THAT just for the sake of being weird/disturbing/etc give me a strange pleasure. If you haven't played Revenge of the Sunfish or something similar you really don't know what I'm talking about.
Despite the fact that I'm absolutely fucking terrible at them, I like a good FPS or turn-based tactics game. Metroid Prime is honestly one of my favourite Metroid games--yeah I know I'm a heathen and have never been a true fan of REAL METROID OMG. Also, ADVANCE WAAAAAARS
Annnnd of course I can always go for a good platformer. 'Specially Mario. Except for Galaxy Nintendo what the hell were you even doing with that game we don't want a SM64 graphics update with shittier controls.
I guess that means I just like a lot of video games in general. I just don't have a lot of love for cookie cutter games that are all pretty much the same. Unfortunately, this encompasses most of the Final Fantasy series, save 7 which actually kinda interests me.

...I'm kind of at a loss. I'm something in the realm of a hardcore gamer, and I haven't heard of like... 5 of those games. XD
Lumines is dope. Most music games are really, from Parappa to Amplitude.
If 7 does interest you, I would advise sinking the time into it. It's quite dated at this point, but the story/unique scenarios/extra characters are still pretty awesome to this day and age. It'll probably just take a good bit of will power to let the game get into it's full roll.
Disturbing for the sake of disturbing? ...Have you played Silent Hill then? Specifically SH2? That game, is a work of art.

Pah, I don't bother with labels like "hardcore" and "casual," I just play what I think is fun. I'm a gamer. Plain and simple.
Fffff Parappa NEEDED TO BE LONGER. A sequel? STILL NEEDED TO BE LONGER XD
I did recently pick up one of the first run of PS3s, so I think if I can find it for a good price I'll check out FFVII. I did watch Advent Children because it came with the PSP I bought from a friend and I had nothing better to do one day. It was certainly intriguing.
I've played Silent Hill, but it's definitely no Revenge of the Sunfish. I seriously could not sleep for a day or two after playing it. I still dug it a lot though :3
