Get it? Au as in chemical symbol for gold, and a pun on 'aw'? Huh? Is this dumb enough yet?
breakerfa made me aware of another obscure, forgotten funny-animal comic character, this one Soopermutt, who makes his big introduction (I guess) in Animal Adventures #1, https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=24685
(starting on page 22). So I took a pose from page 23 there and adapted it to my own curious and barely necessary purposes.
And then I tossed in a basilisk loosely based on the one shown in The Art of Drawing Dragons (Walter Foster books, this one by Michael Dobrzycki) but trying to make it more funny-animal-comic-y. Does it work? I mean, it doesn't explicitly not work, I guess? I like the idea, I just need to fix up the basilisk some. We'll see because I had an idea for a second picture to do with them.
Original Soopermutt art uncredited; basilisk, well, that's based on what I just told you.
